Bill Bailey has stated that despite it being almost three years since he won Strictly Come Dancing with Oti Mabuse, it's still something people reference when he's out and about.

The comedian and actor, famous for shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Skins and Black Books, recently appeared on Lorraine last week. Speaking to guest host (and former Strictly contestant) Christine Lampard, he agreed that once you take part in the BBC One show, you will always be associated with it.

"I walk down the street and sometimes, someone will clock me as I go past, and they just go, 'Dun dun dun dun dun dun dunnnn', and I have to turn and go, 'Dun dun dun dun dun'. It's just like a little call and response thing'," he said, referring to the iconic Strictly theme.

"The thing is, I love dancing, I still incorporate it in my live shows," he added. "I do a bit of Charleston, a bit of Jive. When you learn those skills... those routines, they're right in there. They never leave you. So I just think, 'I might as well use these skills now I've got them'."

Bill was on the ITV morning show to talk about his new project, Master Crafters: The Next Generation on Sky Arts, which airs its finale this week.

Explaining what drew him to the show, Bill said: "There's no competition element, it's a celebration". He added that "some of these crafts are really in danger, it'd be a shame if these were to disappear".

Later this year, Bill is returning to comedy and going out on tour. In September through to December, he'll be performing in Australia and New Zealand, before making his way around the United Kingdom for a series of shows next year.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
