Strictly’s Sarah Hadland reveals unlikely show friendship - ‘He’s such a deep thinker'
Strictly star Sarah Hadland and her Italian pro dancer Vito Coppola are quite the dynamic duo - and their performances on Strictly Come Dancing, which burst with their sense of fun and high energy this year have blown away fans across the country. As we catch up with them for an exclusive shoot, where the duo are delighted by the 70s vibes of the decor and clothes. “We feel amazing, these outfits! I actually feel a bit.. Gangster!” laughs Sarah), it seems a less than predictable friendship has blossomed on the hit BBC show,.
Miranda star Sarah, 53, tells OK! that she also gets on like a house on fire with former TOWIE star Pete Wicks, though before meeting him she initially thought they might not have much in common. But appearances can be deceiving, and the mum of one says: “Pete is lovely - I had some great chats with Pete. he’s such a deep thinker."
She also admits that, once the show is over (though she tells OK! she never wants the experience to end), she would like to take a leaf out of 36 year old Pete's book - and do an epic trek somewhere. "I've been reading his memoir, Never Enough - which is brilliant, by the way, and in it he talks about doing all this amazing hikes. I want to do that, that's an ambition. Up a mountain, somewhere exotic!

Essex charmer Pete told OK! in an exclusive chat before this series began that he 'couldn't dance - not even at weddings'. But he has secured himself a legion of fans on the show with some memorable performances with pro partner Jowita - including as The Joker during the show's iconic Halloween Week.
As for the other celebrities taking their chances on the Strictly dancefloor this year, Sarah admits that blind comedian Chris McCausland is the ‘funniest and loveliest man’, while Dr Punam was ‘her best mate on the show’ and she is 'gutted' that she's been voted out. "That she was a doctor that went on Strictly.. amazing!"
She also had 'the best conversations' with another eliminated star, Paul Merson - 'but that's the nature of the show', she sighs. Sarah seems equally enamoured with the whole group though, saying: "Oh, they're all lovely. We all scream for each other on a Saturday night”, she says, as Vito adds, “Yes, the whole group is so supportive of each other. There’s a lot of hugging - especially where I’m involved!”
