Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova ‘takes swipe’ at ex Kai Widdrington after show final
Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova has had a dig at her ex-boyfriend Kai Widdrington in a post about her upcoming dance show. The Ukrainian born dancer, who was partnered with Olympic swimmer Tom Dean on this series of Strictly, shared a video on social media about her new tour and ended it with a sentence that appeared to be aimed at her former partner: “Sometimes in life you need a partner… sometimes you’re enough on your own,” she shared.
The couple split earlier this year after two years of dating. The video Nadiya shared featured the dancer in a glamorous gown ready for her tour. Alongside it she wrote: “Last night’s Strictly final was incredibly special. One of the highlights for me was dancing to @raye.”
“I LOVED having one of my favourite artists on the show. I don’t know about you, but I really connect with her music and she has inspired me to talk about something exciting I have coming your way in 2025, with a little sprinkling of Raye’s Oscar Winning Tears.”

She continued: “I would love to see you at ‘An Evening With Nadiya’ next year. We have put together a beautifully intimate series of nights where we can talk, dance and get to know each other.Sometimes in life you need a partner… sometimes you’re enough on your own.”
Fans were thrilled to hear Nadiya is heading out on tour. One wrote: “You are enough on your own. I’m coming!” while a second said: “beautiful Nadiya sometimes in life you definitely don't need a man!!!” A third commented: You are stronger than you know and we are so proud of you! I cannot wait for next year, your tour and all the fabulous things in the pipe line.”
Nadiya has previously spoken about her relationship with Kai as it was rumoured they kept their distance from each other while filming this series of Strictly.
Discussing the separation, the ballroom star told the Mirror : "We work together but we are not friends and that's ok. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I'm a professional."
While Kai was not paired with a celebrity on the show this year, Nadiya danced with Tom Deam but he was the first celebrity to be sent home On the red carpet for the Pride of Britain Awards in October, Nadiya said: “It's never nice to leave early. Tom and I have had so much support from people and I get the feeling that the viewers wanted to see what he was capable of and so did I. Someone had to go and it's just a shame it was Tom.”
