Strictly fans predict shock ‘mass exodus’ of pro dancers as they spot huge ‘problem’ with line-up
Strictly Come Dancing fans have predicted a "mass exodus" of professional dancers from the BBC show. One keen viewer divided opinion as they took to the Strictly Reddit thread and asked: "Is anyone else expecting a mass exodus of pros next year?" They went on to say: "I truly believe a lot of the pros will end up leaving after this year for various reasons: Nadiya - inevitable, she seems p***ed at her treatment this year and years priors and the whole awkwardness with Kai press doesn’t help, I think they’ll have to give her a sure fire finalist e.g. Sam Thompson (almost certain he’ll be on next year) to stay but that seems unlikely.
"Kai - this is less likely than Nadiya but still likely, he seems to be annoyed at being benched and all that comes with it and doesn’t seem to have to have enough pull with the fans to warrant staying. Karen - she’s been there 10 years, has placed 12th year after year and was screwed over musically this year so wouldn’t shock me, I could also see her being shifted to It Takes Two. Amy - I think this unfortunately is inevitable, besides her health concerns, she’s also an MBE now and could see her being given presenting/ambassador work that could take priority.
They continued: "Dianne - I think her fame is starting to eclipse her status as a pro, I think she’s staying on to win before she leaves and will probably do that this year. Johannes - I think his west end career is going to take precedent in 2025 and similarly to Dianne his fame is beginning to eclipse the show. Other pros I could see leaving - Neil, Lauren, Luba, Katya."

It prompted a lot of discussion, with many fans agreeing with the theories floated in the original post. Another user responded saying: "I agree that Johannes will likely leave to transition to the West End. Dianne, I’m not sure - she seems to have become a bigger star this year, but equally, she’ll have seen that Oti has almost disappeared, so the financial security of staying with strictly is worth it. Karen for the same reasons - I’m sure she said during Covid she used all her savings or something, so there’s no way she would be able to survive just in her tour with Gorka. Despite being on the show for 12 years, she’s never really become a recognisable name outside of the show. I do think she needs to be given an utter ringer to reignite her enthusiasm and show what she’s capable of. Kai and Nadia, personally, I find them utterly forgettable so I can’t say I would be sad to see them go if I’m honest."
However, others disagreed, with one fan saying: "Strictly is regular work and massive exposure for out of series tours etc. I doubt many would choose to leave unless they have very clear plans for the future." Another floated a whole new theory, writing: "I think it depends on whether or not the producer changes - the current one has been quite loyal to the current roster. The two I can see going are Johannes (lots of other opportunities) and Nadiya (bad breakup causing friction behind the scenes and was out early again). Also possible that Aljaž was just back for a one-off."
