Strictly Come Dancing's Sara Davies supported after sharing health update
Strictly Come Dancing and Dragons Den star Sara Davies has been inundated with support after candidly discussing a warning she was given by her doctor. The 40-year-old entrepreneur and TV personality has recently lost a lot of weight after overhauling her lifestyle.
Sara appeared on Loose Women earlier this week where she discussed the moment she knew something had to change. A clip of her appearance has been shared on the show's Instagram page, in which Sara explained how she had had gestational diabetes during both of her pregnancies, putting her at higher risk of developing Type 2 in the future.
But it was a specific comment from her doctor that spurred her to get "fit for 40", she said. Sara told the panel: "I don't want to be skinny, I just want to be fit and healthy and run around after my kids.

"The doctor gave me a kick up the behind last year, she said 'Sara, you really need to shed some of that weight. You need to get on top of this'. It was the reality check I needed."
Sara then set herself a target to run the Great North Run - a goal she completed in September with a finishing time of just two hours and 17 minutes. She added: "I trained all year and, actually, it's not about what the scales say. I weigh more now than I did in January but this muscle... I'm like this new woman that's got all these muscles".
Sara also said she recently wore a bikini for the first time in 20 years while on holiday with her family. She said: "You’re never going to be happy, but you’ve got to just embrace what you’ve got haven't you?"
Fans of the show clearly loved Sara's comments as many flooded to the post's comments section. One Instagram user said: "She looks amazing an she's such a lovely down to earth lady" while a second added: "This is a great statement xx" and a third wrote: "Sara is a lovely lady who speaks a lot of sense".
