A beauty influencer has shared the moment she was makeup free yet still got stopped by a stranger to ask about her “glowing” skin – and it’s all down to one product.

Many of us are on the quest for healthy, clear skin, with countless people – professionals, aficionados and novices alike – taking to social media to share their tips, advice and personal experiences with a host of skincare and beauty products.

One such content creator is Bambi Does Beauty – whose given name is Eleanor – who has cultivated a dedicated following of hundreds of thousands across popular platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Her reliable and relatable guidance has solidified her standing in the online beauty community.

The 34-year-old regularly offers her insight and reviews of products she’s personally tried and tested, covering high end luxury brands as well as budget friendly high street favourites. In one recent TikTok video, created as part of an advertising campaign with company Avene, Bambi shared an anecdote about a recent compliment she received from a stranger.

Speaking directly to the camera while applying the product, she said: “Last night, I was out having dinner with my mum and this woman came up to our table and was like, ‘what are you wearing on your skin?’ And I actually wasn’t wearing makeup but as soon as she asked, I knew what she was asking about.

“It’s actually not a new product, I’ve used this for years. It’s by Avene and it’s called Cicalfate+ Cream. Dermatologists always bang on about it, Hailey Bieber swears by it, it’s just something that I always have in my cabinet as my SOS skin cream.”

Bambie continued: “If you’ve got sensitive skin that’s easily irritated, you can rely on it to give skin its moisture back and just repair it. I think it’s got something like 40 different uses, and the way it makes your skin glow, it will get you compliments from other women which are the best type of compliments.”

People shared their thoughts in the comments section. One person said: “omg I love Avene Cicalfate cream! It’s my all time fave”.

Another declared: “I need to purchase this immediately” while a third shared: “my skin went nuts when I was on holiday in the UK and I got some in Boots and MY GOD IT IS GOOD.”

Others brand it a “holy grail product” while someone else asked: “Do you know of any decent cruelty free dupes please?”

Whenever trying new products, it’s always best to conduct a patch test to check it’s suited to your skin. Apply a small amount of the product to an area like the inner bend of your elbow or your wrist, and leave it on for 24 hours to check for allergies or sensitivities.

If you experience a negative reaction, like itchiness, burning, or your skin becomes flaky, be sure to stop using the product.
