Still Game cast pay tribute as 'auld pal' Jimmy Martin dies aged 93

Jimmy Martin, best known for his role as Eric in the iconic Scottish sitcom Still Game, has passed away, with tributes pouring in from his former co-stars.

The beloved actor’s co-stars took to social media to honour his memory, including Jane McCarry, who played Isa Drennan in the series.

Sharing her tribute on Instagram, she wrote: "Farewell Jimmy. A colourful life well lived. I loved hearing your stories. You’ll be missed, auld pal."

Greg Hemphill, who portrayed Victor McDade in the show, also expressed his sorrow, remembering Martin as an incredible presence both on and off screen.

"Very sad to hear that the wonderful Jimmy Martin has passed away," he said. "He really was an amazing fella and a joy to be around.

"Full of great stories about cutting about Byres Road in the 60s, about his time in the Navy, and of course, the only genuine auld yin amongst us. We will miss you, Jimmy. X"

Martin’s portrayal of Eric made him a fan favourite in Still Game, which remains one of Scotland’s most beloved comedy series.

Sanjeev Kohli, who played shopkeeper Navid, described Martin as an incredible presence both on and off screen.

He said: "Farewell Jimmy Martin.

"An absolute pleasure to work with, and an absolute pleasure to be around.

"Always with the best stories, always in the best clobber. Go easy pal x"
