Stacey Solomon on the inspiration behind her new homeware collection
It began with a capsule collection for George Home at Asda last spring – now, one year on, Stacey Solomon’s range of affordable accessories for the home has expanded into a homeware empire, full of delightful designs and whimsical prints.
Chatting to Prima, Stacey told us how the latest collection for spring 2025 has evolved. “We've had longer [this time] and learned from our first season,” she says. “We've really had a chance to go for it and go a bit wild with it.”
Much of the collection, compromised of 279 pieces, embodies the great outdoors, complete with wildflowers and daisy motifs. It's perhaps no surprise then that Stacey’s muse is the natural landscape surrounding her quaint Essex home, Pickle Cottage.
“Most of my inspiration comes from my garden,” she says. “The most exciting thing about spring is watching all the different things start to grow again after winter – we really wanted to bring that through in the collection.”
“By the time we get to March, I'm ready for yellows, pinks and powder greens,” she adds.
Indeed, Stacey’s SS25 is brimming with pastel hues, classic gingham and florals. And when creating the daisy design, Stacey says she leant into the vintage charm of her mum’s mid-century cabbage-ware.
“Floral bowls and plates are a bit of a trend [right now], but they've also been around forever,” she tells Prima. “My mum always had cabbage bowls, and I was obsessed with them – they’re really nostalgic for me.”
As for Stacey’s own taste in interiors, two boxes must be ticked: functional and timeless.“Using materials that never go out of fashion is really important to me.”
“I'd describe my interior style as ever changing,” she adds. “I change as a person all the time, and my style changes, but I do like things that will stand the test of the time.”
Case in point: the neutral artichoke bowl – a hero piece amongst the spring collection and a personal favourite of Stacey’s.
“Big ornamental bowls are always statement,” she says. “Maybe you'll change up the accessories inside them, but they'll live in your house forever.”
Stacey adds: “Things like this are usually really expensive, or they're just too small – we're a family of seven, so I'm always thinking about how to fit seven people's stuff in something.”
So, what to fill said bold bowl with?
It could certainly house stray clutter – or fruit is another staple – but Stacey invites you to create a vignette with more unique objects: “You could have a flower arrangement [or] you could fill it water and float [waterproof] LED lights on [the surface]. It doesn't have to be what you typically use bowl for.”
Another highlight from the collection is the sumptuously soft gingham throw.
“A throw can have a big impact in a room, without even painting or changing furniture,” says Stacey. “A pattern and colour that you love can instantly change a sofa, which is a massive purchase that you can't afford to buy over and over again.”
Ultimately, Stacey says buying new homeware is all about “adding to what you’ve got, but also elevating it.” So, next time you spot a new accessory for your home, do as Stacey does. Think: “does it match with what you’ve already got? Does it add a different feel to it?”
