Skims Installs a 60-foot Kim Kardashian Balloon in Times Square to Celebrate Its Latest Swimwear Collection

Skims took an inventive route to promote the brand’s newest swimwear collection — adding a 60-foot-long balloon of cofounder Kim Kardashian to the middle of New York City’s Times Square. The installation spotlights the latest swim drop from the shapewear and apparel brand.

The 60-foot balloon installation features Kardashian wearing pieces from the forthcoming swimwear collection: Skims Swim’s triangle top and cheeky tanga bottoms in a shade of tide. The installation is elevated by a sleek, 4-foot tide blue deck, wrapped in the brand’s signature logo.

The balloon installation concept is executive produced by Amy Kule of Merry Wonderer.

The newest edition of Skims Swim features a range of products from signature swim, terry and cotton jersey cover-ups and poolside accessories. The collection comes in five statement colorways: champagne leopard, champagne tiger, snow, tide and Skims’ signature onyx. With distinct, versatile pieces, the collection offers flattering options to mix, match and layer.

Kardashian posed for the campaign for the forthcoming swim drop, lensed by Playboy photographer Ana Dias and captured in the Bahamas.

“I absolutely love how this collection has something for everyone — whether you’re on vacation or at the beach, it’s all about feeling confident and amazing in what you wear,” Kardashian said in a statement. The collection is further described as “your passport to a sexy getaway wardrobe that exudes confidence and effortless style,” per the brand.

Kardashian has modeled for the Skims brand before. In April 2024, the entrepreneur and reality TV icon posed for another Skims Swim Shop collection campaign photographed by Nick Knight.

In February, the brand announced a new partnership with Nike, dubbed NikeSkims. The collaboration is “a new brand from two of the most iconic names in sport and style, who are teaming up to disrupt the global fitness and activewear industry with best-in-class innovation in service of all women athletes,” according to a statement from Nike.
