Following the death of Dave Myers, Si King has opened up about the future of the Hairy Bikers and his next plans. The TV star has revealed he has started to “think about what I want to do” after his co-star's passing.

Si, 57, lost his best pal Dave to cancer in February. The dynamic duo were best known for their BBC travel and cooking shows exploring culinary delights on motorcycles, having been thrilling audiences for almost two decades.

Reflecting on their friendship and moving forward, Si admitted there is "no Hairy Bikers without Dave". He added: "There’s obviously the sense of losing your best mate. But there’s also a sense of loss in that the experiences we had together can’t go on.”

With the Hairy Bikers being no more, Si is left wondering what's in store for him next, which he is finding difficult. He told The Observer: “So to be presented at my age with the question of what you really want to do is very difficult. We were a partnership, a double act.”

Si noted that his late pal "absolutely embraced every moment" and was an overwhelmingly positive character, who "just loved being a Hairy Biker". He went on to thank his and Dave's loyal fanbase and shared his hopes of them coming along with him as he embarks on a "another journey".

Dave and Si met in 1995 on the set of a TV drama and went on to build a friendship and hugely successful career together. The pair published more then 20 cookbooks together and fronted shows such as The Hairy Bikers’ Cook Off and The Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour Of Britain.

Si's comments come after he returned to work for the first time since Dave's heartbreaking death. Si was met with delighted audiences as he made an appearance at the Good Food Show Summer in Birmingham's NEC over the weekend. He was joined on stage by culinary star Gennaro Contaldo, TV presenter Chris Bavin, and recipe book author Chris Baber.

He put on a brave face as he signed copies of their book, The Hairy Bikers' Ultimate Comfort Food, telling fans that it was great to see people of all ages enjoying the collection of recipes. Si posted snaps from the event, including one of him standing on stage in front of a huge crowd. "Thanks for having me @goodfoodshows!" he penned.
