Some rubbish myths exist regarding women in the workplace - that we’re always threatened by one another, that we’re ‘bitchy’, or that we must see each other fail in order to excel ourselves.

So Sheryl Sandberg is promoting another message by asking women to ‘lean together’ instead. The Facebook chief operating officer, along with a selection of A-list celebrities, delivered the important points via video on Thursday.

The clip, which features Emma Watson, Serena Williams, Megyn Kelly, Selena Gomez, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington and others encourages women to treat one another as allies instead of rivals.

The video’s made up of a series of testimonials which are short but powerful, some in which the celebrities describe the women who’ve inspired and supported them.

The video is part of wider organisation Lean In, Sandberg’s nonprofit and online community - which also features tips on being a role model and ally on its website.

The video’s main message is this: ‘We’re more powerful when we empower each other’.
