Sherwin-Williams Just Released Its First-Ever Color Capsule of the Year
For the last 15 years, Sherwin-Williams has identified a Color of the Year to help set the tone for the months to come — this year, though, they’re shaking things up. Earlier today, the brand released their first-ever Color Capsule of the Year for 2025.
Rather than standing behind just one paint color, the Sherwin-Williams Color Capsule includes nine need-to-know shades, from fan-favorite punchy hues to whites and neutrals. The Color Capsule includes the following paints: Grounded (SW 6089), Sunbleached (SW 9585), Chartreuse (SW 0073), Rain Cloud (SW 9639), Clove (SW 9605), Malabar (SW 9110), Bosc Pear (SW 6390), White Snow (SW 954), and, my personal favorite, Mauve Finery (SW 6282).
Even if you know what color you want on your walls, creating a cohesive color palette for your decor and furnishings can be a challenge. I love that Sherwin-Williams is helping simplify the decorating process with their ready-to-roll Color Capsule, making a curated home much more accessible.
Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams, shared the inspiration for this new collection in a press release: “It’s very special to commemorate our 15th Color of the Year anniversary by expanding to an entire capsule that is a modern, fresh take on color, with a balanced and usable assortment of shades. Together — as a complete palette or in expertly picked pairings — the capsule’s alchemy creates something to be treasured in any style or setting.”
To further bring this collection to life, Sherwin-Williams also partnered with floral design company East Olivia to create one of their signature Forever Floral arrangements. The bouquet, available now in two sizes, is designed to last up to a year, giving you plenty of time to develop your home’s color palette around it. Neutral, fluffy grasses are paired with hand-painted blooms in shades like Chartreuse (SW 0073) and Mauve Finery (SW 6282).
But if you’re still searching for a swatch, the brand has you covered — you can order free color chip samples of each shade online or head to your local hardware store. Or, even easier, see exactly how the color might look on your walls without ever touching a roller using the Sherwin-Williams Color Expert™ app.
Whether you’re planning to use just one paint color or pull from the whole palette, get inspired for your next home project with Sherwin-Williams’ 15th Anniversary Color Capsule collection. I, for one, will be picking up my paintbrush ASAP!
