Sheridan Smith ‘pulls plug on tell-all book’ about exes after reuniting with James Corden in Gavin and Stacey
Sheridan Smith has reportedly scrapped her plans to release her autobiography after rethinking her decision to release a ‘tell-all book’. The stage and screen star, who recently returned to Gavin and Stacey, announced in 2021 that she was writing a book about her life.
At the time, Sheridan teased that it would delve into 'my darkest moments' and confirmed 'a lot of truths will come out'. Sheridan had been working with a ghostwriter, but reports suggest it has been shelved indefinitely. A source told The Sun: “Sheridan has had a busy few years and didn't have time to put the finishing touches to the book.
The source continued: “Her mindset is different now and she doesn't want this version to come out. She felt unsure whether she wants to put all of her life on pages for everyone to read.” OK! has contacted Sheridan's representatives for comment.

The book was expected to reveal all sorts of details about her battles with alcohol, mental health struggles, and relationships, including those with actor James Corden and her ex-partner Jamie Horn, the father of her four-year-old son, Billy.
James and Sheridan first met on the set of the show Fat Friends back in 2002, they then dated during their time on the hit BBC sitcom Gavin and Stacey between 2007 and 2009. At one point before their split, James even called her the 'love of his life'.
The reports of the book being cut come just days after Sheridan returned to screens as she reprised her role in Gavin and Stacey as Rudi. Sheridan played Smithy’s younger sister between 2008 and 2010. On Christmas Day, she then returned for the 2024 ‘finale’ episode.
Before the episode aired a source told The Sun the actress stepped right back into Rudi's shoes and it was 'like no time had passed at all'. Fans were thrilled by Sheridan’s cameo appearance at Smithy’s wedding, along with Pam Ferris who plays Smithy and Rudi’s mum, Cath Smith.
Viewers took to social media stating their approval of the Gavin and Stacey finale , commenting: "There will never be a better show than Gavin and Stacey. thanks for all the laughs and happy memories, you'll be missed!" Meanwhile, another viewer was full of praise, saying: "That was the most perfect way to end Gavin + Stacey. Tonight I've laughed. I've cried. And everything in between. Ruth Jones, Nessa, and James Corden, Smithy, said at the premiere that the show's all about the emotions of love and everything in between - tonight showed that."
