The colour red has long been taking over our wardrobes, hair, and beauty products. Looking to the runways, Choi says that two different finishes will be big this spring. You can opt for a red jelly with a light or translucent finish like Choi selected for the Brandon Maxwell SS24 runway, or you can try a quintessential classic red, which Choi created at the Proenza Schouler SS24 runway.
Baby Blues
If you loved the 'blueberry milk' nails that dominated last spring, powder blue nails are set to take over this year. 'Soft pastels are dopamine enhancing,' says Gerstein, noting that baby blue, in particular, is universally flattering.
Nguyen agrees that the soft hue will be a big trend this spring. 'I love this shade because it’s like wearing a piece of the sky on your nails,' she says. 'It gives off a calm and sunny vibe, just like springtime.'
Sheer Pinks
'Sheer pink is a classic and timeless choice that adds a delicate touch to any look,' says Choi. A peekaboo pink nail polish is versatile for every situation—you can wear it anywhere, from work to weddings.
Canary Yellow
When choosing a new nail colour, bright yellow might not always spring to mind as a wearable choice. This spring, however, the sunny shade will dominate. 'It can be an instant mood booster,' says Gerstein. Wear it on every finger, or as a statement-making accent shade.
Lavender
Nguyen says that lavender is the perfect transitional shade from winter to spring, especially since it’s versatile while still offering a sense of playfulness. Opt for a creamy, opaque version of the shade or a holographic sparkle to add even more intrigue.
Beige
'Versatile and understated, nude beige shades offer a chic and polished look that never goes out of style,' says Choi. While the shade is a timeless classic, it was also seen at the Marc Jacobs FW24 runway and reimagined in fresh, new ways.

When I think of mint green, I envision the loud chevron patterns of the 2010s. This season’s hue is much more subdued—think dusty pastel green rather than seafoam. Nguyen calls this colour another 'instant mood booster.'
Forest Green
Forest green nail polish may seem like a wintery choice, but Gerstein argues that it’s a natural neutral shade. Since it’s such a prevalent colour in nature, this deep hue works to ground your manicure.
Mermaid blue
Bold colour statements are making an appearance in a major way this spring. One colour we can’t wait to put on our nails is sparkling, aqua blue. 'The vibrant and bold nature of aqua blue shimmer makes it a standout choice for the spring season, embodying an eclectic yet understated look,' says Arnold.
Barbie Chrome
Hot pink nails will have a moment this spring. 'Fuchsia is a bold and eye-catching shade, perfect for spring,' says Arnold. 'It’s gorgeous with pink glitter. This colour embodies sophistication with an energetic spirit, making it a gorgeous choice for the spring season.'
Gilded
Glittering, eye-catching gold nails go with everything, just like gold jewellery. 'Gold shimmer is a versatile and elegant choice for spring,' says Arnold. 'It adds a touch of luxury and sophistication to any nail design.'
Amber
Warm brown tones are the perfect neutral nail colour to choose this spring. According to Edwards, amber is the perfect colour to reach for when you want to add a little intrigue to a nude manicure.
