Selena Gomez is *not* here for body-shaming, and she wants the world to know it.

ICYMI, last week the singer slash actor made an appearance at the Golden Globes, where she was nominated for her performance in Only Murders in the Building. For the awards ceremony, Selena wore a black strapless dress with puffy sleeves and a thigh-high split – yep, she looked stunning!

Sadly, not everyone felt the same way, and Selena was hit with insults from body-shamers on social media – which she seemingly replied to later that night.

Appearing in an Instagram Live with her nine-year-old sister Gracie, who was also her date for the Golden Globes, Selena told the camera: 'I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays.'

She then turned to Gracie and asked, 'Right?' Gracie agreed, prompting Selena to burst out into laughter.

A clip from the Instagram Live was later shared on TikTok where, in the comments section, fans pointed out how sad it is that Selena felt the need to respond to body-shamers.

'She shouldn’t have to explain why her body looks how it does,' one person said along with a sad face emoji, as another wrote: 'She must feel very insecure about people seeing her [at] those kind of events :( she’s perfect and doesn’t need to give explanations.'

Someone else rightly pointed out: 'She’s beautiful in any shape!'
