In today’s episode of “celebrities you didn’t know were best mates”, Selena Gomez and Nicola Peltz Beckham, who welcomed the New Year in true celebrity fashion: with a yacht and matching sparkling outfits.

Gomez, 30, and Nicola, 27, saw in the New Year on a trip with a small group of friends and Nicola’s husband, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, sharing their getaway with their combined 370 million Instagram followers.

The model and Rare singer shared several relaxed snaps and videos from time on a yacht together with friends, as well as evening pics from a beach where they welcomed 2023 in formalwear.

The pair picked a Valentino silver sequined mini dress for their New Year’s Eve outfits, which look to be custom-made based on the personalised clothing labels shared to Nicola’s Instagram account.

The glamorous long-sleeved dresses featured a large cut-out at the back and waist, and both wore the sparklers with clear platform heels, before kicking them off to dance in the sand.

The best friends were joined by a small circle of some of their nearest and dearest, including Nicola's husband Brooklyn who wore a tuxedo with a loose bow-tie for the evening celebrations.

“Fine calls us a throuple,” Gomez posted on her Instagram as she posted several pictures of her spending time with the newlyweds, adding the hashtag, #foreverplusone.

Both stars took to Instagram to post about their New Year’s Eve celebrations, and to thank fashion house Valentino for their matching outfits.

“Thank @maisonvalentino for me and my angels [sic] dresses!” wrote Gomez. “Felt like a fairy!”

Whilst Nicola Peltz Beckham thanked Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli for their “matching dream dresses”.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has spent the holidays with his wife, celebrating both Christmas and New Year’s stateside away from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and siblings, Romeo, 20, Cruz, 17, and Harper, 11, amid rumours of a family ‘feud’.

Both David and Victoria posted to their own Instagram accounts to wish fans a Happy New Year, and tell Brooklyn that he was missed by the rest of the family.

He, however, neglected to mention any of his own family members in his holiday posts, which got some users up in arms in the comments section.

“Don’t forget to call home. Your family loves and misses you,” wrote one user.

“Do not walk away from your parents. They have mentioned you in their new year post. Why not you? Is it pride?” added another.

Elsewhere, some fans came to Brooklyn’s defence to say that the rumoured issues are nobody’s business but theirs.

Nicola addressed the rumours – which reportedly started because she didn’t wear Victoria’s brand to walk down the aisle in April 2022 – in an interview with The Times in October.

​​The model rebutted the idea of a feud, explaining that the Victoria's atelier simply didn’t have time to make the dress.

“No family is perfect,” she insisted.

She later told Variety that she “was going to and I really wanted to [wear the dress], and then a few months down the line, [Victoria] realised that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress.

“She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it,” she added. “That's where it started.”

Victoria wore a silver bias-cut dress by her own brand for the big day, and dressed several other famous faces for the event.
