This season's scarf print trend has been given the royal stamp of approval
We don’t know about you but it’s proving increasingly difficult to be inspired by the muted palette our summer wardrobe has to offer. Over the past few months we’ve overbought and overdone linen, neutral tones and a whole rail worth of saccharine-hued suits.
So you can imagine our delight when the Insta set proved that maximalism is back and bigger than ever. Enter: nineties-inspired scarf print.
First Instagrammed on the AW18 runways, Richard Quinn introduced the industry to a social media-worthy twist on the traditional scarf motif.
With Queen Elizabeth II sitting FROW (no biggie), models stepped out in Majesty-inspired headscarfs and asymmetric dresses emblazoned with the Balmoral-appropriate print.
Within a matter of minutes, the fash pack took to the social media platform to take the trend for a spin IRL in a series of street style snaps.

We can’t scroll through our feeds without seeing Diane Von Furstenberg’s now-famous scarf blouse on the back of a blogger while others have delved into the back of their summer wardrobes to reinvent the necktie as a cold-shoulder crop top.

Courtesy of the trickle-down effect, the likes of Topshop and Zara are on hand to help us mere mortals trial the trend.
Those of you who didn’t manage to get your mitts on Topshop’s now-famous polka dot dress will be pleased to learn that the high street giant has re-introduced its most coveted number in the autumn-ready scarf print – and it’s an absolute steal at £55.
Meanwhile, Zara (never one to be outdone) has seriously upped the fashion game. We have our hearts set on a heavily-printed tunic while the label’s scarf-effect midi skirt will see us through to autumn in style.
See you at the checkout.
