Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest outfit is a "homage" to Daphne from Scooby-Doo

Sarah Michelle Gellar's most famous on-screen character has gotta be Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But Sunnydale's Slayer is not her only iconic depiction. Nay, if you cast your mind back to 2002, you'll remember that SMG also played the role of Daphne in Scooby-Doo. And now, in a glorious turn of events, the actor's just gone and paid tribute to the gal with the 'Creepers!' catchphrase.

For context, over the last week, Sarah's been sharing incredible outfit pics from her recent trip to Cannes. And between the handful of amazing gowns 'grams, the star has also shared a more casual look in Daphne's signature hue: purple (which happens to be a major spring/summer 2023 fashion trend, FYI). The outfit in question features a relaxed lilac jumper with a rounded crew neck teamed with a pair of violet bottoms and statement hoop earrings. Well aware of the resemblance to her Scooby-Doo character's famous wardrobe aesthetic, Sarah captioned the post: "Homage to Daphne"

Unsurprisingly, fans were totally here for the 'fit, especially when teamed with a nostalgic reference as good as this, commenting:
