It has been a busy few weeks for Princess Beatrice, who last month married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret wedding ceremony in front of the Queen.

Yesterday, the monarch’s grand-daughter also celebrated turning 32 – and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, marked the occasion by sharing an unusual detail about her birth.

The Duchess of York, 60, revealed the lesser known fact that her eldest child had arrived into the world on the 8th day of the 8th month, August, in the year 1988 at precisely 8.18pm.

In a post on Instagram, she treated her 296,000 followers to a picture of her daughter as a little girl, smelling flowers in a sunny garden.

Captioning the sweet image, the duchess wrote: “Happy Happy Birthday My Dearest Beatrice. 8.8.88 at 8.18pm was one of the greatest and most proud moments of my life.

Beatrice was born at the Portland Hospital in London – the same place Meghan Markle gave birth to Archie last year.

It comes as her sister Princess Eugenie wished her sibling a happy birthday by sharing a selfie of them on the eve of her surprise nuptials last month.

In a post on Instagram, the 30-year-old – who married husband Jack Brooksbank in 2018 – wrote: “Happy happy Birthday dear Beabea.

“Here we are on the eve of your wedding. Still rocking a scrunchie or hair accessory (since the 90s) and huge smiles on our faces.”

Another praised: “Natural beauties.”

On Friday 17th July, Beatrice tied the knot with her long-term boyfriend Mozzi.

But, due to an easing of lockdown measures in England, the couple were able to tie the knot in front of Her Majesty, Prince Philip, and a small number of family members, at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in the grounds of Windsor Great Park.

The palace said in a statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were married in a small family ceremony on Friday 17th July.

“The ceremony took place at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor, with the kind permission of Her Majesty The Queen.

“The couple decided to hold a small private ceremony with their parents and siblings following the postponement of their wedding in May.

“Working within government guidelines, the service was in keeping with the unique circumstances while enabling them to celebrate their wedding with their closest family.”
