'Never has a mother been more proud': Sarah Ferguson breaks silence after Princess Beatrice's wedding
Sarah Ferguson has spoken of her pride after her daughter, Princess Beatrice, married in a secret ceremony amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Duchess of York had only been posting about her daily storytime in recent days, but has thanked well wishes for their messages as she posted about the big day.
Writing on Instagram, she said: “Thank you to all the very special and kind people that took the time and trouble to send amazingly caring and supportive messages.
“Never has a mother been more proud than the wedding of Eugenie and Jack, and again with my Beatrice’s loving wedding to Dear Edo. I am so lucky with my girls, and now the best sons-in-law.”
The message was alongside a picture quote, which read: “Happiness cannot be travelled to, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
Beatrice married her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday, in a secret ceremony in The Royal Chapel in Windsor Great Park.

The Queen and Prince Philip attended, as did the bride and groom’s parents and siblings.
Mozzi’s son Wolfie was his best man.
The couple released photographs of their big day over the weekend and it’s since emerged that the ceremony was planned in a short space of time by Beatrice and her mother.
None of the photographs released feature the couple’s parents. Prince Andrew had to step back from his royal duties in November over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, and the ongoing legal battle threatened to overshadow his daughter’s wedding day.
Beatrice, who was thought to be staying with Mozzi’s family in Oxfordshire, isolated with the Yorks in Windsor so that her father could walk her down the aisle.
Ferguson’s message comes after Eugenie, Beatrice’s sister, shared her own warm words for her older sister.
She wrote: “Couldn't Bea happier (get it) 🐝...
“What a complete joy and privilege to watch you, my beautiful big sister, walk down the aisle to dear Edo. I am so proud of you and I'm so excited to support you in the next chapter of your life. We are going to have so much fun together.
“Happy wedding day to you both xxxx”

Beatrice and Mozzi have known each other for some time, but started dating after meeting again at Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018, it’s understood.
They were quickly rumoured to be preparing to walk down the aisle, and confirmed they were engaged in September last year.
They had planned to marry in London, with a reception in the Buckingham Palace gardens, but had to halt when the pandemic put the UK into lockdown.
