Samantha Cameron Chooses Preen By Thornton Bregazzi For David’s Resignation

This hasn’t been the brightest day for the Camerons. As the results of the EU referendum have fallen upon Brexit, David Cameron this morning stood in front of Number 10 and resigned as prime minister.

Beside him was Samantha Cameron who, as well as a look of sincerity, chose to wear Preen by Thornton Bregazzi.

As someone with a Vogue deputy editor sister and former executive at British accessories and stationery house Smythson herself, she’ll know that her fashion choices today will have carried meaning.

During her time at Number 10 Samantha also gave a great deal of support to British designers by showcasing up-and-coming names and helping them to build established businesses.

For David’s speech today, she chose an abstract white-and-many-coloured shift dress from Preen’s Resort 2015 collection. With both botanical and modern aspects, as is typical of Preen, it was quite the blend of old and new.

Samantha also wore Preen for another significant - though perhaps more jubilant - affair; last year’s Conservative general election victory. She wore an electric blue A-line dress, which also blended modern and old with a black and lime pattern.
