Sam Faiers doesn’t take any contraception and ‘has to be so careful’ after welcoming third child
Sam Faiers has revealed she doesn't take any form of contraception and has to be "so careful". The mum of three opened up about her preferences in a chat with older sister Billie Shepherd, who she hosts the podcast The Sam & Billie Show with.
Sam, 33, and Billie, 34, who both rose to fame on ITVBe's The Only Way Is Essex, spoke about how contraception is a "personal thing" and everyone reacts differently to the various types available. Sam, who is mum to Paul, seven, Rosie, five, and two year old Edward, confessed she does "not take anything right now" and insisted she "won't take the pill" ever again.
She agreed with her sister that everyone reacts to contraception differently, with Billie then opening up about her own choices. The Family Diaries star - who is mum to Nelly, nine, Arthur, six, and Margot, 17 months with husband Greg - said she had a coil fitted around six months ago.
She noted that the birth control had sometimes left her with "uncomfortable" periods, but it takes a while to "balance out". Billie then spoke about how everyone's experiences are different when it comes to contraception.
"I just think it's so difficult to give people advice - because loads of my friends have had the coil fitted and then had to have it taken out because it didn't agree with them," she told her sister.
Sam - whose third child Edward was born in May 2022 - said she feels nothing guarantees "100 per cent" security and spoke about natural contraceptive methods. She went on: ''I think that if you get a good natural cycle app or something, so you'd know when you're ovulating - but I just think nothing can be 100 per cent.''
The 33 year old then joked that she's being doing "good" so far without contraception. She added: "I don't take anything and obviously, Edward is two now - and so far, so good."
Sam and Billie's comments come after Billie opened up about the possibility of welcoming a fourth child with husband Greg in the future. She told OK! she'd "never say never" to potentially expanding her family.
“I’m so happy with three,” reality TV favourite Billie told us. “Never say never, but I am really happy with three. And I definitely have my hands full.”
