My favorite Sam's item just got even better.

As a longtime Sam’s Club member, I have my trips to the store pretty down pat. Whether I’m restocking my pantry with Rao’s and my freezer with chicken nuggets or buying cheese board essentials and bakery finds for a special occasion, I know exactly what I’m getting when I enter the club store.

However, no matter how thought out my grocery list is, I tend to leave Sam’s with a few additional, unintended items that are new to the club. What can I say? When the new releases are as good as the Snack Factory White Crème & Peppermint Covered Pretzels and pre-made yule log cakes, it’s hard to pass up.

Sam’s Club already sold one of my favorite pre-made items, but now the offering just got even better. The store rolled out a new 42-count party tray of its beloved sushi.

Sam's Club Introduces New Kobe Sushi Tray

As divisive as grocery store sushi might be, it’s well documented that I—along with many other customers—love Sam’s sushi. The rolls are made fresh in club daily by a third-party company, FujiSan, and available in multiple varieties—including California Rolls, Tempura Shrimp Rolls, and Rainbow Rolls.

Many clubs already showcase the chefs hand rolling the sushi in the pre-made food section of the store. However, Sam’s is committed to bringing more awareness to its sushi by adding sushi counters to clubs nationwide.

If your club already has a sushi counter, then you might know that Sam’s sells customizable trays and platters for preorder. FujiSan advertises six platters that can be purchased at the counter—with advanced notice recommended—including a Sapporo Platter, Yokohama Platter, Osaka Platter, Kobe Platter, Akita Platter, and Nagoya Platter.

Currently, Sam’s offers the Akita Platter—which features 44 pieces of Spicy California, California, Tempura Shrimp, and California Crunch rolls, and Shrimp Nigiri—for just $25.18 in its every day sushi cases. Now, on the heels of Costco’s viral sashimi platters, Sam’s is releasing a new Kobe tray.

The 42-count tray features 10 pieces each of California, Tempura Shrimp, and Spicy Tuna rolls and four pieces each of Ebi Shrimp, Salmon Shrimp, and Tuna Nigiri. Each tray includes fresh ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce and can be found in the pre-made aisle at Sam’s Club stores.

The sushi tray is $34.48 and the perfect option for nigiri fans—cough, cough, like Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson. I’m not saying I plan to eat the entire tray of sushi along with cornbread slathered in peanut butter like The Rock enjoys, but, it does sound like the ultimate comfort meal.
