Sabrina Carpenter taps Dolly Parton for ‘Please Please Please’ remix on deluxe album
Sabrina Carpenter, still riding high from her success at the 2025 Grammy Awards, has announced a deluxe version of her critically acclaimed breakthrough album Short n’ Sweet, boasting five new songs, including a very special remix of one of her biggest hits.
Carpenter shared the deluxe edition’s tracklisting on her Instagram which shows the addition of new bonus tracks, the most exciting of which is a remix of her number one hit single ‘Please Please Please’, updated to include a feature from none other than the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton!
Other new songs include tracks by the titles ‘Bad Reviews’, ’15 Minutes’, ‘Couldn’t Make It Any Harder’ and ‘Busy Woman’. They sit alongside the album’s already-established hits like ‘Espresso’ and ‘Taste’.
The hitmaker has stated that this new edition is to serve as a thank you to fans following her Grammy success, which saw the singer take home two trophies – Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance (for ‘Espresso’). Writing on Instagram, Carpenter said: “as a thank you for giving this album 2 Grammy’s :’) short n’ sweet deluxe is now available for pre order.. and yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. 💋💋💋she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy shit!!!!!”
The ‘Please Please Please’ remix will mark Parton’s second recent collaboration with a 2025 Grammys darling as the legendary singer also made a cameo appearance on Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter album which landed the singer the coveted Album of the Year prize.
‘Please Please Please’ was produced by frequent Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antanoff. The producer has previously compared the song to Parton’s signature sound, telling Rolling Stone last year: “There’s like an Olivia Newton [John] feeling, there’s a Dolly feeling, there’s an incredibly super modern pop feeling.”
“The little vocal runs she does are so bizarre and unique — they’re doing this really odd, classic, almost yodel-y country thing. She’s becoming one of the biggest young pop stars, and that song is such a statement of expressing yourself, not just lyrically, but sonically,” he went on.
The updated edition of Short n’ Sweet is due for release on Valentine’s Day (14 February).
