Rylan Clark details intimate hotel moment with Rob Rinder - and sets record straight on romance
Rylan Clark has opened up about an 'intimate' moment he shared with TV star Rob Rinder while their were filming their recent TV show Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour. During an appearance on This Morning to promote the show, the pair discussed their antics in Italy on Thursday, 16 May.
Recalling the places they stayed during the trip Rylan told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: "In Venice we stayed in separate accommodation. Then in Florence it is the same accommodation but separate rooms and by Rome I am waking up with him on top of me like 'Get off me barrister!'
"We started this process as mates and we've finished it as actual genuine friends and that's probably one of the best things to come out of it."
Responding to Rylan's sweet remark, Rob added that he made him "proud every single day." To which Ben quipped: "See that look is why people think something is going on."
And viewers at home were quick to spot the pair's chemistry too, with many sharing their thoughts on X, previously known as Twitter. One wrote: "Rob seems totally smitten by Rylan #ThisMorning"
While another added: "Ohh the way Rylan is looking at Rob talking, looks like he loves him a little bit #thismorning." And a third penned: "Rob and Rylan purposely feeding the thoughts of their fans by leaning right into each other on the sofa arms touching #ThisMorning"
However, despite the pair's chemistry raising a few eyebrows, and Rob's own comments that friendship does sometimes turn into love, Rylan recently took to social media to deny the romance rumours and to protect his mum Linda. Taking to X, the former X Factor star said: "To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don’t.
"She said you were a lovely man but she’s 71 years old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The answer is no. I’m not dating Rob Rinder; he’s one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks."
It comes as the first episode of Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, saw them open up about their past relationships while enjoying a drink in front of a stunning Italian backdrop.
Rylan confided in Rob about the intense period following his divorce, saying: "I think it was a culmination of my marriage breaking down and actually me stopping for the first time in 10 years.
"Then, all of a sudden, I hit quite a big speed bump instead of carrying on, I just sunk. It was the worst experience of my life. I just went on a downward spiral. I tried to end it, I tried to finish myself off. I didn't eat, I went down to 9st. I'm 6ft 4 Rob, like I look horrendous."
