Royal recipes: How to make the Queen's favourite dishes
We can’t all have private chefs like the Queen. However, we can learn how to cook Her Majesty’s favourite dishes thanks to a new cookbook.
Written by royal chef, Mark Flanagan, and royal pastry chef, Kathryn Cuthbertson, Royal Teas: Seasonal Recipes from Buckingham Palace tells you how to cook 40 afternoon tea dishes loved by the royal family for years.
A mixture of sweet and savoury recipes are included, allowing you to learn the ins and outs of making cardamom and orange shortbread, carrot cake, salmon quiche and more.
Queen Elizabeth’s delicious drop scone recipe is also featured. President Dwight D Eisenhower was famously so impressed by the baked delights that he requested the recipe directly from the monarch.
Here’s a sneak peek at how to make a few of the royal family’s classic favourites.
