If there's one piece of outerwear you need this autumn/winter, it's a leather bomber jacket. Our Fashion Director has been telling us for months that it will be the style of the season, and we're now fully convinced after clocking Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's latest appearance at Paris Fashion Week.

Perfecting cool-girl chic in an all-black look, the model arrived at luxury fashion brand The Row's SS25 show wearing an oversized leather bomber jacket, tailored black trousers, a sleek clutch and heeled, almond-toe boots. Ever the star, she added sunglasses despite the grey day, and wore her long blonde hair in soft natural waves.

Block black is big news in fashion circles right now, led by Valentino's fully black AW24 show earlier this year. Likewise, leather is key if you want to look stylish as the colder weather descends.

'I am totally seduced by this winter's new bomber jacket trend and have one firmly at the top of my new-season shopping list,' says Red's Fashion Director, Oonagh Brennan. 'It's a style you may not have worn since the 1990s but introducing one into your wardrobe will be an outfit game-changer. Wear it to add swagger to romantic maxi dresses, tailored trousers and even chunky Fair Isle knits and denim. I'll wear it to add a tough edge to a ruffle-hem pencil skirt and a rollneck.'

Of course, classic biker black is always a good shout, a la Rosie's Paris look, but Oonagh recommends opting for dark burgundy or brown for a more elevated twist. 'It's softer and more sophisticated,' she says, selecting Reiss' Cleo style as a favourite. 'Style it with tonal tailoring and chunky gold jewellery for a cool Seventies edge.'

Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, celebrity highlights have included Sienna Miller at Chloe in a stunning pastel boho look, and Kate Moss pairing a sheer black maxi dress with a crushed velvet blazer for Saint Laurent's showcase.
