Rita Ora in painfully awkward moment as she struggles to find fans who know the words to her song at gig

Rita Ora was among the artists performing at this year's Mighty Hoopla on 2 June, but her set didn't quite got to plan. The pop star took to the stage to perform a series of tracks, with the likes of Jessie Ware, Rachel Stevens and Danny Howard also on the line up.

Rita, 33, attempted to get the audience involved in her show as she belted out hit track Anywhere, and headed down to the crowd to enlist some people to duet with. In a clip shared to X, she could be seen walking down to greet fans at the barrier, before attempting to find someone to sing her lyrics back to her.

In a hugely awkward moment, Rita couldn't find a Mighty Hoopla attendee who knew the words to Anywhere. To divert attention away from the blunder, she then began singing a completely different song and continued with her show. On X, somebody posted a clip of the moment and penned: "Rita Ora trying to find ANYONE in the front row to sing her song acapella is one the best most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen omg then she sang the wrong song."

The singer went on to perform other hits such as Your Song, Hot Right Now, Lonely Together and Praising You. Rita also confirmed she's in the process of creating her fourth studio album, and it is "going really well". Speaking to The Sun, she said: “The album is going really well. I’m taking it just one song at a time to be honest. I’m not sure it will be ready for this year though. But the great thing about my label {BMG] is that I have the time and they are really chill like that.”

Rita's latest single Ask & You Shall Receive was released on 31 May. Her third studio album, You & I, was inspired by her relationship and wedding to husband Taika Waititi. Hollywood film director Taika, 48, was present at Mighty Hoopla over the weekend and could be seen supporting his wife as she performed on stage. He was also reportedly seen filming clips of her singing on his phone.

Rita and Taika began dating in 2021 after first meeting in 2018. The singer then proposed to her beau in 2022 and they married in Los Angeles just a few weeks later, in August that same year. The couple tied the knot at their home with just a small group of friends present, and the ceremony was planned in just two weeks.
