Today, Queen Camilla skipped a scheduled engagement just a few days after she was announced to resume her royal duties following her COVID-19 diagnosis.

The queen consort was originally set to join King Charles during a visit to The Felix Project, a food redistribution organization located in East London. However, the monarch instead made a solo appearance at the charity.

Buckingham Palace explained Camilla's absence in a statement released to BAZAAR.com.

"Her Majesty has made an excellent recovery from last week’s illness," a palace spokesperson said. "However, to allow for additional preparation ahead of Thursday’s rescheduled literary reception and other commitments, Her Majesty did not attend today’s Felix Project engagement. His Majesty’s visit remained unaffected."

The palace announced that Camilla had tested positive for COVID-19 last Monday, February 13.

"After suffering the symptoms of a cold, Her Majesty The Queen Consort has tested positive for the Covid virus," the palace said in a statement at the time. "With regret, she has therefore cancelled all her public engagements for this week and sends her sincere apologies to those who had been due to attend them."

This past weekend, the palace announced that Camilla would officially resume her royal duties at a literacy reception to be hosted at Clarence House on Thursday, February 23.

Camilla's diagnosis comes nearly an exact year after she first tested positive for the virus back in February 2022. Then, the palace had announced her condition four days after Charles also tested positive.

BAZAAR.com can confirm that Camilla has received at least three COVID-19 vaccines.
