Princess of Wales shares joyful new photo taken by Prince Louis to celebrate life beyond cancer
The Princess of Wales has shared a joyful new photograph to celebrate life beyond cancer, in recognition of World Cancer Day.
In the photo, Kate stands grinning with her arms stretched out wide in the middle of a forest, with the winter sun shining through the trees behind her. She is wrapped up in a long padded coat, mittens and hat, standing in the midst of frost-covered leaves.
Kate also revealed that the photograph was taken by her youngest child, Prince Louis - following in his mother's footsteps as a keen photographer herself.
Alongside the new images, which was posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales' official social media channels, she wrote, "Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease."
Last month, the Princess visited staff at the The Royal Marsden hospital where she had been treated to thank them for their work. Reflecting on her experience in a post, The Princess said it was a "relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery," but that it "takes time to adjust to a new normal."
In March last year Kate announced in a video message that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy, as it was found cancer had been present following an abdominal surgery.
As a result, the Princess stepped back from public duties while undergoing and recovering from treatment, but was able to return to some public events towards the end of last year, including to host her annual Together at Christmas Carol Service.
