The Princess of Wales shares emotional message ahead of special carols
The Princess of Wales has delivered an emotional message ahead of a special carol service, which she hosts each December.
For the Together at Christmas carol concert, the Princess has penned a heartfelt letter which will given to each of the guests attending the event in Westminster Abbey, as well as in 15 different locations across the UK.
In the letter, Kate has said that, "Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times," - a message which is perhaps particularly poignant given her own health concerns and those of The King this year.
In the letter, Kate also reflects on the deeper meaning of the festive period saying that the Christmas story is about "the importance of giving and receiving empathy". She also wrote that Christmas is a time to "slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all" and that we all "we need each other in spite of our differences".
The 2024 event will be the fourth concert spearheaded by The Princess of Wales, and supported by the Royal Foundation.
This December, guests of the service will include those affected by the Southport knife attack, as well as others from across the country who've had a difficult year. Members of charities and organisations of which Royal Family members are patrons, as well as members of the Royal Family themselves, will also join the event which is taking place on Friday.
The Together at Christmas service will take place on Friday 6 December. Royal Carols: The Together at Christmas carol concert will air on Christmas Eve on ITV1 and ITVX.
