For the Together at Christmas carol concert, the Princess has penned a heartfelt letter which will given to each of the guests attending the event in Westminster Abbey, as well as in 15 different locations across the UK.

In the letter, Kate has said that, "Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times," - a message which is perhaps particularly poignant given her own health concerns and those of The King this year.

In the letter, Kate also reflects on the deeper meaning of the festive period saying that the Christmas story is about "the importance of giving and receiving empathy". She also wrote that Christmas is a time to "slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all" and that we all "we need each other in spite of our differences".
