Princess Eugenie, 28, is set to marry her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank, 32, in St George’s chapel on Friday 12 October 2018.

From the celebrity guests rumoured to be attending to the public’s involvement, here’s everything you need to know about her big day.

Who is Princess Eugenie?

Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, the Queen’s second youngest child, and Sarah Ferguson. She’s ninth in line to the throne.

Eugenie was 20 when she met Jack during a skiing holiday in Verbier. She was at Newcastle university at the time, studying English politics and history.

The pair have been dating since, and managed to maintain a long distance relationship (reportedly via hours on Skype) when Eugenie moved to New York for two years, to work for art auctioneer Paddle8.

Eugenie is now a director at Mayfair art dealers, Hauser and Wirth. She and Jack live in Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom house in the grounds of Kensington Palace and count the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as neighbours.

Her net worth is said to be approximately 3.6 million, but most of that is family money and held in a trust.

Who is Jack Brooksbank?

Jack Brooksbank is the son of Nicola and George Brooksbank, the latter an accountant and company director. He’s said to be a descendant of the Brooksbank baronet and has a brother named Thomas.

He was educated at Stowe, a private school in Buckinghamshire, but skipped out on university. Instead he got a job as a waiter at Chelsea’s Admiral Codrington pub, before joining the Markham Inn where he met one of Prince Harry’s closest friends, Guy Pelly.

It was Guy who helped Jack get a job at infamous Mayfair club, and one of Prince Harry’s old haunts, Mahiki. With his party years well behind him, Jack is now a wine merchant and a European Brand Manager for George Clooney’s tequila brand, Casamigos.

Following the announcement of their engagement, both Princess Eugenie’s parents made comments about their affection for Jack:

“Jack is an absolutely outstanding young man and Eugenie and he have got to know each other over a number of years, and I’m really thrilled for them,” Prince Andrew said following the engagement announcement. “I’m just completely overjoyed for them and wish them every happiness,” he continued.

Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, also shared her enthusiasm for her future son-in-law on Twitter this morning. “We love Jack and I am so excited to have a son,” she wrote.

Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) will perform during the ceremony.

The internationally renowned singer-songwriter Andrea Bocelli will also perform two pieces during the Service.

Will Eugenie’s royal title change after the wedding?

According to the BBC, Princess Eugenie was given the option to take her husband’s surname post-wedding.

Multiple sources are suggesting that her title will change to HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank after the couple tie the knot on 12 October 2018.

However, her husband-to-be will not gain a prestigious title despite marrying into the royal family.

Who’s paying for Eugenie’s wedding?

While Prince Andrew will be paying for some of Eugenie’s wedding, according to reports, the British taxpayer will be covering security costs, which are expected to weigh in at over £2 million.

Can members of the public attend the royal wedding?

Following in the footsteps of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Eugenie and Jack have sent out invitations to 1,200 members of the public to join them on their special day – after receiving over 100,000 applications to attend.

Other guests in the Castle grounds will include representatives of charities and organisations supported, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, the Teenage Cancer Trust, the Salvation Army and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women.

Children from two local schools, St George’s School and Coworth Flexlands School, both of which Princess Eugenie attended, will be present, alongside members of the Windsor community, residents of Windsor Castle and a number of Royal Household staff.

Can I watch the royal wedding on television?

The BBC famously declined to showcase the upcoming royal wedding therefore it will be broadcast on ITV in an extended ‘This Morning’ special.

The TV special will kick-start at 9.25am on 12 October with coverage of guests arriving at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle from 11am. The programme is expected to finish by 1pm with the newlyweds leaving the ceremony.

In an official announcement, ITV said the broadcast will “capture the atmosphere and arrivals at St George’s Chapel, with Eamonn and Ruth joined by guests, commentators and experts for this specially extended programme”.

The wedding will also be live streamed on The Duke of York’s Facebook page and Twitter feed from 10am on the day.

Will there be a carriage ride?

Yes. The newlyweds confirmed in July that they’ll undertake a short carriage procession after their ceremony. It will begin at Windsor Castle, then proceed along the High Street and return to the castle through Cambridge Gate. It will echo the route taken by The Earl and Countess of Wessex following their wedding, and will not include the Long Walk.

Where will the wedding reception take place?

Following the carriage procession, the Queen will give a reception at Windsor Castle in the afternoon, for the newlyweds and their guests.

Eugenie, Jack and their families and friends will then head to Royal Lodge – the York family’s Windsor home for a second evening reception. It’s located three miles south of Windsor Castle and was where Eugenie and Beatrice’s British Vogue photoshoot and interview took place.

According to the Sunday Times, the soon-to-be newlyweds have called in the Beckham’s party planner, Peregrine Armstrong-Jones, to help organise their two-day celebrations.

On October 13, guests are reportedly invited to a “festival and funfair” themed party.

According to a royal source, “There will be dodgems and funfair rides, coconut shies, lots of food stalls, loads of cocktails, Bloody Marys for the hangovers and a festival vibe”.

What will Eugenie wear on her wedding day?

Eugenie revealed in her British Vogue interview that she’ll be wearing a ‘British-based designer’ on her big day. According to bookmaker Ladbrokes, Erdem is currently the number one prediction with odds of 7/2.

The Canadian-born designer is situated in London and was also a name in the running to design the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress. On the big day, she surprised critics with a gown by Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller.

Other bets on Eugenie’s dress designer include Suzannah (5/1), Jenny Packham (6/1) and Alice Temperley (10/1).

She’ll likely pair her dress with the York Diamond Tiara, which her mother Sarah Ferguson wore for her wedding to Prince Andrew.

Who will make the royal wedding cake?

Eugenie and Jack have chosen London-based designer Sophie Cabot to make their wedding cake.

The red velvet and chocolate cake will be a traditional cake, with a modern feel. It will incorporate the rich colours of autumn in its design and will be covered with detailed sugar work including ivy.

Sophie started her bespoke cake design business in 2014 having grown up with a love of baking and learning her skills from her grandmother and mother.

She came to the attention of the couple through her involvement with The Duke of York’s Pitch@Palace programme, where she supplied specially decorated bespoke biscuits.

Which royal family members are in the wedding party?

Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, 14, and Viscount Severn, 10, have also been given special roles on the day.

Jack has asked his brother Thomas to be his best man.

It hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it’s likely Prince Andrew will walk his daughter down the aisle.

The rest of the royal family is expected to attend, with the exception of the Duchess of Cornwall, who has prior engagements in Scotland on that day.

Which guests are rumoured to be attending Jack and Eugenie’s wedding?

James Blunt and Sofia Wellesley

Never ones to skip a royal wedding, James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley have a famously close relationship with the Windsor clan. The reason? Wellesley’s parents are Lord and Lady John Henry Wellesley so are often spotted nudging shoulders with royalty.
