Thanks to its cosy, velvet-like texture, corduroy was the fabric of autumn/winter 2022. And if you're still enjoying wearing your favourite cord pieces, it's not quite time to put them to the back of the wardrobe just yet.

Whether it's a dress or a jacket, cord is still having a moment, as Princess Beatrice reminded us on Wednesday (29 March) evening.

The royal attended an opening event for the new BBC Earth Experience at the Daikin Centre in London and chose a navy cord maxi for the occasion.

It looks like Beatrice was wearing the midnight blue Corduroy Festival Dress from the Vampire’s Wife, with slightly puffed shoulders and pleated cuffs on the sleeves.

It comes in a range of rich colours, including emerald green and a dark plum shade, and is still available in most sizes at the time of writing.

If you're keen to try the look, there are a number of similar cord dress styles available from other brands including the best-selling Daphne dress by Cefinn and a stretch cord midi style from Aspiga.

The BBC Earth Experience, which opens on 30 March, takes visitors on an immersive journey around seven continents, with narration from David Attenborough and footage from Seven Worlds, One Planet, projected on screens using the latest digital screen technology. If you're planning a trip to London during the Easter holidays, the experience is open to all ages, with tickets priced at £28 for 3-15-year-olds and £32.50 for over 16s.
