Unless you live on the actual moon, without any access to Wi-Fi or 4G, you'll know that yesterday was a momentous day over in America: Donald and Melania Trump exited the White House and Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. Also making history was Kamala Harris, now known officially as Madam Vice President, the first female, black and Asian person to hold the role.

Obviously due to the coronavirus pandemic, the inauguration ceremony – while still featuring mega performances from the likes of Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and John Legend – had a shortened guest list in comparison to previous years. That said, eagle-eyed royal fans have taken to social media to share that they caught a glimpse of none other than Prince Harry! Sort of.

Yep – the royal featured in a photo displayed during Biden's Inauguration Day trip to Arlington Cemetery. Writing about the image on Twitter, royal correspondent Omid Scobie (who co-authored the unauthorised biography of Meghan and Harry's relationship, Finding Freedom) said: "A blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo by a royal at President Biden’s #InaugurationDay visit to Arlington Cemetery. Well, kinda... Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a giant photo from Prince Harry’s 2013 visit hanging in the background while Joe Biden caught up with the Clintons."

Naturally, in classic true to Twitter form, the "cameo" prompted a flurry of responses from social media users, many of whom appear to be American and singing Harry's praises – some even speculated that he might collaborate with Dr Jill Biden, Joe Biden's wife, on military-related projects.

"We are going to see Dr Jill and Harry working together again on military stuff 😍😍😍," one wrote. The prince hung out with the Bidens and the Obamas back in 2017, through his work with the Invictus Games held in Toronto, and in 2013, Jill was seen welcoming Harry to a reception for wounded British and US military personnel – so hey, perhaps that's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Others chimed in just to say how much they love having the Duke of Sussex in the US (he and wife Meghan Markle made the decision to set up home there early last year, after stepping down from their roles as senior working royals). "I can't wait to see The Sussexes at the WH on some official, Archewell [the charity set up by Meghan and Harry] charitable business," said one.

So, will we be seeing Meghan and Harry dropping in to the White House in the near future? Here's hoping!
