This bargain John Lewis three-piece lounge set is worth every penny
I basically live in this super comfy and chic loungewear set that is amazing value for money.
As someone who works from home most weeks, I love comfy clothing, especially matching loungewear sets—embarrassingly, I now have about 10 sets that I wear on rotation. I find a soft and stretchy two-piece is the best WFH outfit, as I want to be comfortable, but still look and feel put together. If, like me, you want to look polished but still feel like you're wearing pyjamas, then you need to know about this hugely popular John Lewis Three Piece Loungewear Set.
A flattering design featuring a vest top, longline cardigan, and joggers with an adjustable waistband, it comes in three colours: navy, oatmeal, and chocolate. It previously came in a light grey, which is the colour I nabbed before it sold out.
For just £46, you get three pieces, which works out to just over £15 per item - talk about excellent value for money. Plus, the items can be endlessly mixed and matched with others in your wardrobe all year round.

This chic lounge set is super comfortable and comes in three colours: oatmeal, navy and chocolate.
It’s not just me who loves the two-piece, it’s already sold out multiple times since it first launched last year. Luckily, it’s now back in stock. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know, so whether you’re searching for a new comfy WFH set or just love getting cosy when you return from the office to binge-watch a new series on Netflix, I’d add this to your basket before it sells out again.
💸 Reasons to buy
Firstly, it’s super soft, stretchy, and feels luxurious, even though it’s very budget-friendly. It also washes well - I pop it in the washing machine on a 40-degree wash and tumble dry on a low temperature, and it has still maintained its plush finish, with no shrinking or bobbling.
I love that you can mix and match the versatile pieces with existing items in your wardrobe, making it excellent value and ensuring it pays for itself quickly in cost per wear. I’ll often throw on a hoodie with the vest and joggers when it’s a bit chilly, or pair the longline cardigan with leggings and a T-shirt.
The trousers and cardigan also both have pockets (hurrah!) and feature a relaxed fit, so I feel cosy and comfortable. The trousers also feature an adjustable waistband, which is useful and I find tucking the vest in is the most flattering fit.
It comes in four universal sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large. I wear a medium and am a size 12 with a larger bust, and it's the perfect blend of fitting comfortably without being too baggy, so I’d recommend ordering your regular size.
I got my hands on the charcoal grey set before it sold out, but I also love the rich chocolate version and the neutral oatmeal shade.
✋ Reasons to avoid
The loungewear set originally came in only three sizes: small (sizes 8-10), medium (sizes 12-14), and large (sizes 16-18). This year, John Lewis has listened to feedback and added extra-large (size 20), expanding the size range to accommodate more plus-size figures.
While I think the set is incredibly good value, I am aware that £46 is quite a lot to spend on clothing you're likely to only wear indoors, but I think it's well worth the money for the amount of wear you will get out of it.
