Prince George's school teacher, Lucy Lanigan-O'Keeffe, is engaged to marry one of the Duke of Cambridge's closest friends, Thomas van Straubenzee.

Lanigan-O'Keeffe, 31, teaches outdoor learning and mindfulness at St Thomas's in Battersea, where George, 5, has been a pupil for two years. She's also the assistant head teacher at Thomas's Clapham, The Sunday Times reports.

Princess Charlotte - whose godfather is property mogul van Straubenzee - will be joining her older brother at the school in September.

It's not known how Lanigan-O'Keeffe and van Straubenzee met, although it has been rumoured that William and Kate might have been involved. Van Straubenzee was formerly married to Lady Melissa Percy, the Duke of Northumberland’s daughter. They divorced three years after their wedding in 2016.

The newspaper also reports that Prince William will be an usher and may also give a speech at the wedding. George and Charlotte, 4, are expected to serve as pageboy and bridesmaid.

Van Straubenzee, who is the boss at the private office of property firm Knight Frank, and his brother Charlie attended Ludgrove School in Berkshire with both princes. Charlie is close friends with Prince Harry, and it has been rumoured that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could ask Charlie to be the godfather of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who will be christened in July.

Buckingham Palace has yet to announce the date for Archie's baptism, but it's thought that it could take place in the first week of July. St George's Chapel in Windsor is likely to be the venue, which is where Prince Harry was baptised in 1984. And, of course, Prince Harry and Meghan married at the chapel in May 2018.
