Prince Fans Can Party Overnight Like It's 1999 With Rental Of 'Purple Rain' House
Prince Fans Can Party Overnight Like It’s 1999 With Rental Of 'Purple Rain' House. Prince fans will have the opportunity to stay in the iconic Minnesota house made famous by Purple Rain. It’s the first time the residence, which Prince purchased in 2015, has opened to the public, marking its 40th anniversary this year. While Prince never lived in the home, it served as his character The Kid's residence in the 1984 movie. Some rooms have been restored to their film appearance, while others have been transformed into museum-style exhibits displaying Prince memorabilia. Guests can sleep in a replica of The Kid’s bedroom, complete with lavender pillows and a 1980s-style cassette player loaded with Prince’s personal tape collection. There’s also a lounge where guests can play guitar, drums, or piano, or even perform. QR codes scattered throughout the house connect visitors to commentary from the hosts. Naturally, there’s plenty of Prince’s signature purple color throughout the house. Clothes and accessories are available for guests to try on, giving them a chance to live out their inner rock star fantasy. There are 25 nightly stays available between October 26 and December 14 for just $7 a night per person.
