There’s always something new at Disneyland and Disney World and that’s even more true than usual in June. Pride month is upon us and with it, Disney Parks are getting more colorful than usual. This year’s Pride Month celebration takes everything that made last year’s event special and makes it bigger. That means more decorations, more special experiences, more food, and more merchandise. It looks like Pride Month at Disneyland and Disney World in 2024 will be the biggest one ever.

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World or Disneyland this month, whether you’re a part of the community or an ally, you certainly won’t want to miss what’s new, so here’s a look at some of the highlights of Pride Month at Disney Parks.

Pride Merch In The Disney Parks

When it comes to the Disney Pride collection there is a way to show your Pride as well as your fandom, no matter which particular corner of the endless Disney universe you love the most. Stitch appears to be the unofficial mascot of this year’s Pride collection, with both a pin and an ornament available that includes Stitch hugging a rainbow Scrump doll. A plush version of Stitch in a rainbow shirt and rainbow sunglasses is also available.

If you’re a fan of some of the unique themed merchandise you can get in the park, some new Pride-related options are available. There’s a mini rainbow R2-D2 that resembles the Droids you can build at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can also get a miniature rainbow Spider-Bot like the one you can find at Avengers Campus. There are also several Star Wars-related items in the Pride Collection, including an excellent t-shirt that lines up six lightsabers to create a Jedi pride flag, because they celebrate diversity in the galaxy far, far, away. Most items are available on the Disney Store website as well as at merchandise locations located throughout both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.

This Year’s Pride-Inspired Food Looks Incredible

Whenever I’m in the parks I’m always on the lookout for what’s new and interesting when it comes to food. There are several delicious-looking items worth checking out that might make for some of the best food at Disneyland or Disney World if your stomach is big enough to try them all.

While many of the popular Pride Month offerings from previous years have returned to Walt Disney World, there are many new choices as well. Mousse domes seem to be popular this year. A lemon chiffon cake with raspberry lemonade mousse, white chocolate glaze, and rainbow sprinkles can be found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, while a version with dark chocolate and strawberry mousse, flourless chocolate cake, and rainbow glaçage can be found at the Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts.

Outside of the parks, but still inside Walt Disney World, there are even more Pride offerings and a way to help support a good cause. The three restaurants at Disney Springs that are part of the Patina Restaurant Group are all offering special Pride cocktails, partnering with 21 Seeds tequila. At the end of June, the group will donate to The Center Orlando, which works to promote and advocate the LGBTQIA+ community.

While Disneyland Resort’s list of Pride food items is as extensive as ever, most of it is made up of returning items from previous years. There is a new Strawberry Vodka Cocktail, made up of vodka, strawberry purée, and soda water and topped with a rainbow candy belt. There’s also a new pride bottle topper available for those who like to collect Disney Parks novelties.

Epcot’s Mural And More Pride-Themed Displays

If you went to Walt Disney World and didn’t take any pictures, were you even really there? Finding the perfect place to take the perfect photo is always important when on vacation, but during Pride Month it’s a little bit easier, as there are a couple of special murals that are worth checking out.

Last year one of the most popular new additions during Pride Month was the “Love” mural that was painted outside the Connections Cafe that included the colors of the Pride flag radiating from the top of Spaceship Earth. The mural was unfortunately taken down after Pride Month ended, but now it’s back.

Epcot has always been about bringing people together. World Showcase is dedicated to giving guests a look at other nations and cultures from around the world, and this mural expands that idea by calling on guests to also embrace sexual orientations and gender identities.

But, the Epcot mural is not alone this year. A second mural has been added on the side of Tomorrowland’s famous purple wall, the most Instagrammed location at all of Disney World consists of a Mickey Ears silhouette, with the word “Love” in the center, with a rainbow arcing around Mickey’s head.

Pride Themed Magic Shots

If you’re looking for something a bit more when it comes to your photographs at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, Magic Shots are a fun way to add a little Disney Magic to your pics. Many Disney PhotoPass photographers have the ability to offer these special shots that can insert Disney characters to pose with you, or otherwise add decorations to enhance your picture.

Pride-themed Magic Shots were first introduced last year. This year, some new Magic Shots have been added to the available options. Some PhotoPass photographers also have physical rainbow props that guests can use in their pictures if they want something more tangible.

Pride Nite At Disneyland

After Hours events at Walt Disney World and Disneyland are, almost without exception, events worth checking out. While they cost a little more, they offer a lot that you won’t get in the park during normal hours and they usually have a special theme that unifies all in attendance. After years of unofficial, but incredibly popular “Gay Days” at the Disney Parks, last year saw the first official Disneyland Pride Nite. The event was so successful that it was brought back for 2024. Special photo ops will be available, and even more Pride-themed food will be on offer.

While Pride Nite at Disneyland tickets are already sold out, that’s good news in a sense, as it means that interest in the event is still there. Hopefully, we’ll see it expand and be offered for more nights in the future.

June is a big month for Walt Disney World even outside of Pride. The summer season is always busy and this year will see the opening of the new Disney World attraction Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. That highly anticipated ride will only increase the crowds celebrating Pride at Disney World.
