Pride Month is not just about rainbow flags, a celebratory vibe, lots of parties and a big colourful parade.

It's an important campaigning and awareness month too, with its primary goal being about working to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and those who are queer/questioning aka LGBTQ+. (Sometimes you might see an 'I' added for intersex, and an 'A' which is for Ally.)

And this year is particularly special because it's Pride UK's 50th anniversary. There's even been a commemorative 50p coin created which features rainbows and the Pride progression flag (this is in an arrow shape and has brown, pink, pale blue and white stripes, to represent marginalised people of colour in the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the trans community, and those living with HIV/AIDS). The coin is not in general circulation but is available to buy online via the Royal Mint.

And some big-name clothing brands including Versace, Savage x Fenty, Coach, Kate Spade – even New Look – are also doing their bit to raise money for this marginalised community by creating special clothing collections we can all buy.

Check out our round-up of some of the best pieces to buy now, that you can wear with pride.
