Channelling the 90s has become quite a big trend over the last couple of years. First it was dungarees and crop tops, then the Clueless GIFs and choker necklaces, and who knows when the reruns of Friends will ever end.

It’s fair to say that 90s kids have a tight grip on their childhood, which has only got tighter this week thanks to the app that has taken over the world: Pokémon GO.

Yeah Pokémon are a thing again.

Remember all that pocket money spent on trading cards, and man-hours spent in playgrounds making deals and exchanging your 400 Digletts in the hope that one day you would own rare ‘shiny’? Well the monsters are back, and they’re ready to take over your life again.

The augmented reality game, which uses the GPS on your smartphone, finally gives you the chance to be the Pokémon master you always knew you could be. With the use of real locations the app hopes to encourage its users explore the cities and towns where they live.

So if you want be be the ultimate master, not only are you going to have to play well, you’re also going to have to look the part. After all you’ve gotta catch ‘em all!
