The Mysterious Girl singer is now gearing up for more filming but it means he will be home more everyday. Writing in his weekly column, the 51-year-old singer - who is dad to Theo, Amelia, ten, and eight-month-old Arabella with wife Emily, as well as Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with ex Katie Price - revealed he will be going Down Under to see his mother Thea's, amid her health battle, after Peter announced she had been diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
Elsewhere in the column, Peter has also opened up about Sir Elton John's health update, Christmas time at the Andres and his love for "modern royals" Princess Kate and Prince William....
Wrapping up
Filming for my new drama is going really well, I’ve done my last stint of my filming overseas and the next part of the drama will be filmed in the UK. It’s been really amazing but it’s also been incredibly busy, it’s the busiest I’ve been in a long time! I’m about to fly to India to do a show over there, so by the time you’re reading this, I’ll be back from India. It’s been a lot of backwards and forwards travelling, so Emily is holding the fort - she’s doing amazing. But thankfully, I’ll be around more in the coming weeks as I’m going to be starting rehearsals for The Best of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons soon. I’ll be home every night and hopefully be taking the kids to school every day again.

Here come the festivities
I’m looking forward to Christmas and unwinding with the family - I usually switch off from work around the 20th December so I can’t wait to spend time with Emily and the kids after a busy time. I’ve seen lots of families doing Elf On The Shelf this year and finding so many creative places to put them, I just don’t know how they do it! Emily would definitely be good at it, but not so much me - those elves are way too clever!
Sending love, Elton
I was very sad to hear that Sir Elton John has lost his sight, I’ve met him many times and he’s a complete gentleman. When you get to an age where you’ve lived such a full, crazy, wild life and you’re a music icon, you get to a point where you just want to be with your children and your family. But it’s very sad that, at that time, you have to start thinking about the reality of age. It must be very difficult for him, vision is such a key part of what he does when he is performing and looks to the crowd, or when he’s with his kids and sees their faces, so it’s really sad to have that taken away. He’s a true icon and I hope he’s doing OK.
The modern royals
It’s great to see Kate Middleton out and about and at her Christmas Carol Concert again this year and I’m glad she seems to be doing well. I always love seeing Kate and Prince William together. For me, they are such a beautiful example of what the royal family should be. They put a modern twist on what posh royals are and have made it more personable. Hopefully, we see more of them in the new year.
Heading Down Under
I am going to Australia very, very soon to see my mum and dad. I’m going with my brother Michael, just the two of us and we’re going to spend some real quality time with my mum, dad and sister. I need to spend time with my mum, which is going to be emotional. When it comes to her health, we just have to hope and pray that she’s doing OK. It will mean so much to have this time with her.
