Perrie Edwards admits she's never lived with partner of eight years Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Perrie Edwards has revealed she has never lived with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite the pair being an item for over eight years. The Little Mix singer has opened up about the challenges she and her footballer beau face due to being based in different locations.
Perrie, 30, resides in the UK while Alex, also 30, is currently based in Turkey after signing a three-year deal with Turkish club Besiktas last year. Alex and Perrie, who are parents to two year old son Axel, are now splitting their time between Cheshire and Istanbul, which is understandably difficult for the couple.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, Perrie admitted the situation is "hard" but she and Alex are determined to "make it work". She then admitted the pair have "never lived together" in a shock confession.
The mum-of-one said: "I can't lie, it is hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn't get a lot of time off. I'm trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two year old so it is a lot to juggle but we make it work for the ones we love don't we?"
She added: "We've never lived together anyway - the whole eight years we've been in a relationship, we've never actually lived together."
Alex made the move to Turkey in August 2023 and Perrie has been super busy with her solo career following Little Mix's indefinite hiatus in 2022. She announced news of her debut single, Forget About Us, in March.
With the unveiling of her album cover, Perrie set the internet ablaze with excitement, announcing the imminent arrival of her much-awaited solo venture. "Here's the truth of it… Wow it's happening!! My first solo single Forget About Us is coming, available to pre-save now," she wrote, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement.
The track was released on 12 April and proved to be an instant hit with fans. The songstress has worked with RAYE on one of her new singles but Perrie was keen to impress it's not a complete reflection of her relationship.
"Full disclosure, me and my partner don’t argue, we’re very laid back and very chilled," she shared. "But at the same time, I can be a little bit of a petty b***h and I can’t help it. I don’t know whether it’s my star sign - cancer. I’m very stubborn, I’m very emotional but not in the best way. I will hold a grudge for anything he might say."
