People are realising GBBO series 1 was a bit different
As an Easter treat, the first seven series of The Great British Bake Off arrived on Netflix, but for some people, it was a serious education.
Much like fellow reality shows Come Dine With Me, First Dates and more, the very first series of Bake Off is almost unrecognisable to the version that the majority of people know from its final series on BBC One.
For one, Stephen Noonan delivered the voiceover, not Mel and Sue, while the tent didn't even stay in one place and instead travelled around the country. Oh, and there wasn't even a Star Baker until series two.
These bombshells were discovered for the first time when the first series hit Netflix and people just couldn't deal.
Watching Bake Off from the beginning on Netflix. It's weird to see both how different (there's a male narrator! The tent moves around the UK!) and how charmingly amateur it is

Just started Bake Off from the first series on @NetflixUK . My mind is blown by how the format is so different. It looks like a baking version of The Office.

Mary and Paul are in the room during the technical challenge! What is this?!

Seeing as it's in the Moments, I decided to have a look at that very first Bake Off.
Yup, a bit different. It's the random car driving by, or odd bloke walking his dog outside that's really strange.- Si (@bromley001) April 3, 2018
Now that Netflix has the first 7 seasons of Bake Off, we’re watching it from the beginning and wow, so much is different in the pilot!

Old series of the bake off are on Netflix. How different series one is! I miss all of the bits about the history of cake. #GBBO #bakeoff
