Sophie Rundle has given birth to her second child, a baby boy.

The Peaky Blinders star and her husband Matt Stokoe have welcomed another son as Sophie, 35, shared the first pics of her newborn on Instagram.

Her sweet picture showed the actress cradling her little one on her chest, while another black and white snap showed the tot’s head and hand.

The Happy Valley actress gushed that she was "riding this heavenly wave of perfect love."

She wrote: "He’s here. I am fully ready and expecting to nosedive off the hormonal cliff edge at any moment but for now I am riding this heavenly wave of perfect love. I only want to stay in this bed, tending to my exhausted happy bones, sniffing his delicious head and grandly announcing that he is wearing an archival look from the 2021 collection everytime I put him in one of his brother’s old baby grows.

"(I am perhaps a tad delirious at this point.) Oh wow, the love the love the love.

"Special thanks to the incredible team at @stroudmaternity for bringing him here so safely and happily and for looking after us so expertly, we are so grateful."

Sophie had opened up on her pregnancy on The One Show earlier this year as she said: "I am now pregnant in real life. So this is starting to feel like the longest pregnancy any human woman has ever endured."

During the appearance on the BBC show in January, Sophie revealed that because she'd been filming with a fake baby bump, it now feels like she's had the 'longest pregnancy'.

Sophie, who also starred in Gentleman Jack, also revealed that wearing the fake bump nearly put her off having another child.

She said: "Wasn’t pregnant then, had a big fake bump and I think I was sort of put off when I had the fake bump then enough time had passed and now I’m going in for more."

On Instagram, alongside a picture of her baby bump, Sophie wrote: "I forget who I have and haven't told at this point because I've been busy trying to remember what a waistband is and stop my three year old using my belly like a trampoline but big ol' baby number two incoming. Ain't that a nice thing."

Sophie and her husband are already parents to a three-year-old son, Henry.

Sophie has been in a relationship with fellow actor Matt, who also starred in Bodyguard, since the couple met in 2016 on the set of Jamestown. He is best known for playing Alex in Channel 4's Misfits.
