Parisian Copper Is the Emerging Hair Color Trend for Spring—Here’s How to Achieve It

The recent autumn/winter 2025 fashion month delivered plenty of beauty inspiration, from the extra long mermaid waves swishing down Annie Ibiza’s catwalk to deep side parts seen on the Dior runway.
Show-goers did not disappoint on the street style front, either. London delivered plenty of big bangs moments, while in Paris, it was an elevated take on red hair that dominated.
If the past few seasons saw the rise in black cherry hair as seen on Dua Lipa and rich copper tones, it seems that Paris Fashion Week is taking on a much fresher, more sunlit take on the tone: the Parisian Copper.
“This is an earthy, more gentle shade of copper that feels understated. Unlike bold copper, which can appear overly bright or artificial, this tone embraces golden hues, warmth and subtlety,” says Kara Sanderson, advanced color technician at Brooks & Brooks salon.
Leighton Meester is a big fan. Attending the Elie Saab show last week, the Gossip Girl star embraced her redhead era more than a decade after playing one of television’s most iconic brunettes, Blair Waldorf. Her color has been created by L.A.-based colorist, Amy Huson.
Hairstylist and trend forecaster Tom Smith echoes the “earthy” sentiment in a social media post. He dubs it as Terracopper 3.0, which sits across the spectrum of deeper hues, and has now evolved to include “peachy, powdery variations” such as the one seen on Meester and street style stars attending the Paris shows.
This gentler take is not only a great way to lift the complexion for spring, it’s also a way to ease into the trend without committing to a bolder tone. “It is a fresher option compared to deeper auburns and reds. While deep auburns have more of a reddish undertone, they can often feel heavy, especially as warmer weather approaches,” Sanderson says. “The more golden-based coppers feel lighter and more fitting for springtime. It adds warmth and brightness without overpowering the complexion.”
