Palisociety CEO Avi Brosh on His First Furniture Collection

Avi Brosh, creator of the Palisociety hotel concept, has flexed his creative muscle, this time with a line of furniture. The sort of bygone California whimsy he has created with each and every one of his properties — from the Palihouses to Le Petit Palis — is now available in the form of tables, chairs, couches and beds.

The Palisociety Capsule Collection, which was presented Monday, was designed by Brosh and his team and includes signature pieces. The Château bed was inspired by those at the chic, low-key Le Petit Pali hotel concept and is fashioned with a demilune-shaped headboard with dreamy camel-toned plaid. A nod to the seating styles at Le Petit Pali, the Trusty dining chairs are formed from walnut-stained bentwood and covered in high-performance Schumacher cotton velvet.

No stranger to challenges, he unfurled his first Palisociety furniture capsule just a few weeks after fires gripped Southern California. Brosh is donating a portion of the sales proceeds from the collection to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The year has begun with immense challenges for our city, and as a Los Angeles-based brand with deep roots here, we’ve been focused on how we can support recovery efforts, our community and immediate needs,” he told WWD.

It wouldn’t be the first time Brosh pulled off the unexpected. With a background in residential real estate, he was able to open the first Palihouse hotel in West Hollywood in 2008 amid a shaky hotel market and economy.

Elsewhere in the collection, pieces fit for an upscale home include the World Famous accent chair upholstered with cabana stripe fabrics, the Hollywood credenza accented with dark stained walnut wood and the Orlando bedside tables crafted from travertine. Prices run from $2,500 for a pair of dining chairs to $5,000 for the Château bed.

Since starting the Palisociety brand in 2008, Brosh has proved he has design potential. His distinctive nonchalant California glam aesthetic has evolved in his properties throughout the West Coast. His most recent hotel debut was the Le Petit Pali Brentwood, a low-key hotel in the upscale, family-friendly West Side neighborhood not far from the Getty Center and Brentwood Country Mart. A reimagination of the former Brentwood Inn (born the Brentwood Motor Hotel in 1947), the property laid out around a central motor court features 25 redesigned rooms that have a cozy contemporary-meets-cottage feel with striped wallpaper, floral headboards, sisal rugs and curated art, plus amenities like Diptyque bath products and Smeg refrigerators stocked with locally made snacks.

“I’ve always been creatively inclined, but my interest in interiors only emerged when I began working in real estate development when I discovered a natural instinct for design. Transitioning into creating hotels allowed me to fully elevate that creative sensibility, shaping it into a defining element of the Palisociety brand,” he said.

The Capsule Collection includes additional accessories like the brand’s Saint Pali custom scent and Palisociety linen pajamas.

The collection is available on palisocietycapsule.com with immediate delivery in and around Los Angeles and can also be viewed by appointment at the refreshed Palihotel Melrose in Los Angeles.
