Outer Banks fans are all saying the same thing about JJ and Kiara in season 3

Outer Banks season 3 recently landed on Netflix, and fans are loving being back with Sarah Cameron and the gang, as they attempt to flee from a Caribbean crime kingpin Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen). And if there's one development they're *really* invested in, it's Kiara and JJ's blossoming romance, which sees them go from BFFs to pining for each other.

*Spoilers* Back in season one of Outer Banks, you might remember JJ (played by Rudy Pankow) revealing his feelings for Kiara (Madison Bailey) to John B (Chase Stokes), explaining how they had kissed twice but things had fizzled out.

While season two saw them begin to understand each other better, it also Kiara and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) have a quick fling, before Kie and JJ seemed to find their way back to each other in season three.

This wasn't exactly a huge shock to fans - screenwriter Josh Pate had previously told EW they were going to be the "big romance" of the season, adding, "almost a whole episode is devoted to that relationship. It was a big card we really wanted to play and make it a big thing.

"We didn’t want to do it too fast, so we thought season 3 would be a good time to explore that, and I’m really pleased with the way that came out. It’s some of my favourite scenes of the whole season."

Still, that hasn't stopped fans from praising the couple as the best example of the friends-to-lovers trope, and taking to Twitter to share their support. As one viewer put, "Outer Banks giving us the best slow burn best friends to lovers … I'm crying."

Someone else said, "JJ and Kiara invented the best friends to lovers trope. #Outerbanks | #OBX3" and "KIARA TELLING JJ SHE LOVES HIM OMG I'M SO OBSESSED I'VE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS."

Another put, "'Kiara: I love you. JJ: I love you too!' Finally after 3 years we have the first Jiara’s kiss.. I’m so much in love with them.. since the first day of season 1, I’m Team JIARA.. and I’m always will be!"
