Olly Murs becomes a dad! X Factor star's wife Amelia Tank gives birth to their first child
Olly Murs has become a dad for the first time, as he confirmed his wife Amelia Tank has given birth to a baby girl. The couple, who announced they were expecting a little one in December last year, revealed the joyous news on Instagram.
Sharing a snap of him and Amelia leaving the hospital hand-in-hand with their newborn daughter in a car seat, they confirmed the gorgeous name they have chosen.
Olly proudly wrote: "Our mini murs has arrived. Madison we love you so much already x."
New mum Amelia wore a black jacket and leggings as she walked down the hospital corridor, while Olly wore a North Face coat and jeans.
Messages of congratulations soon poured in as TOWIE star Shelby Tribble wrote: "Ooooh congratulations to you all. the best adventure begins."
Vicky Pattison commented: "Congratulations you guys" and radio host Sonny Jay said: "Congratulations the pair of you."
Mark Wright wrote: "Buzzing for you both guys. Love yas x", while Laura Whitmore gushed: "Congrats you guys!! Xx."
Olly, 39, who was a judge on The Voice up until last year, married bodybuilder Amelia, 31, in a three-day private island extravaganza in July 2023, after being in a relationship for four years.
Sharing snaps to social media throughout the pregnancy, Olly and Amelia have been keeping fans up to date as they neared the latter's due date – often showing off her blossoming bump. They even hosted a Greggs-themed baby shower last month, joining forces with the bakery chain for the hilarious event.
Dubbed 'Preggs' as an ode to expectant Amelia, the bakery had a food van on site for the shower, which was covered in pun-tastic phrases like 'What's in your oven?' and celebratory signs saying 'Congratulations Olly & Amelia.'
Alongside welcoming a newborn, Olly is also hitting the road on a 41-date tour alongside Take That which started on April 13, and while that may seem inconvenient timing for any new parents, they've got a plan.
"Every few days on tour I get a day off, so if it happens, I can get back. We have got some stadium shows over the summer so I think Amelia will be coming along to them with the baby," Olly explained to The Sun before the little one's arrival.
The former X Factor star added: "We are so ready to have children now and ultimately, it all came naturally and it was beautiful. I am hoping we have a baby who will sleep. Everyone has said to me, ‘Just get into a good routine.”
Olly and his wife, who are both into fitness, met at the gym in early 2019. The pair were just friends at first, before taking some time to spark up their lasting romance.
Amelia works in business and has also won many competitions as a bodybuilder, coming first in the Bikini Tall and Miss Model category at the Miami Pro World Championships. She also won the Bikini Babe Tall Class at the Pure Elite competition.
The pair now live together in a stunning Essex home, which boasts an outdoor swimming pool.
