Attention, Oasis fans.

Feuding brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher seem to have put their differences aide to post cryptic videos on their X (formerly Twitter) accounts.

The pair split in August 2009 after a heated argument in Paris proved too much for songwriter Noel. Confirming the bad news at the time, he said: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

Ever since that devastating day, Liam has teased fans that his "bags are packed" if his big brother wants to set their differences aside. He's had a successful solo career – and Noel has also pursued other ventures.

Noel, now releasing music with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, often insists to interviewers he has "no interest" in a reconciliation. His stance softened slightly in 2021 though, when he told Jonathan Ross he'd play with Liam again "for £100 million".

On Wednesday (May 22), the official Oasis X account posted a clip without a caption featuring music and footage of Noel and Liam in 1994 – the year their debut album Definitely Maybe rocketed to the top of the charts.

The pair both retweeted Oasis' video, giving excitable fans hope that a reunion is just around the corner. In response, one admitted: "This suspense is absolutely killing me..."

Another said:. "Please tell me this is a signal for a reunion!" And a third gushed: "This would be Earth-shattering!"

It comes after 51-year old Liam said in a now-deleted tweet earlier this week: "If I was to say Oasis was getting back together you wouldn't believe me it's like when MCFC get the all clear you'll still say we cheated we can win either way or can we LG."

Fans may want to brace themselves for disappointment though. Sceptics are adamant that Oasis' recent social media activity is simply down to a potential 30th anniversary reissue of Definitely Maybe.

At the moment, Liam is touring with these tracks this summer alone. "These two will never be on the same stage again," a pessimistic fan declared. "People need to let go and realise this."

A second said: "All this just for rereleased definitely maybe remastered." And a third agreed: "It’s Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary reissue that’s all. Will be slightly different than the 2014 one I have."
