Nicola Coughlan has a relatable fangirl moment over Jennifer Aniston

The only thing better than seeing a celebrity in the wild and completely losing your mind is seeing a celebrity see a celebrity in the wild and promptly lose their mind.

Which is apparently what happened when Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan ran into Jennifer Aniston at the 2024 Emmys. Or, more specifically, walked the carpet at the exact same time as her, eliciting a gasp because it is Jennifer Aniston, after all.

When asked to recall the 'strangest' part about being on the red carpet, Nicola said, 'Okay, I went to get my photos taken and then I looked to my left and Jennifer Aniston was standing right beside me. I heard her voice and I went [gasp!]. I gasped. I’m normally quite okay, but she’s...she’s Rachel. I can’t. Yeah, that was a really crazy one. She’s perfect.'

This year's Emmys was actually Coughlan’s first red carpet event in Hollywood, and for the occasion she opted for a sparkling silver Prabal Gurung ensemble. On the red carpet, it seemed that silver was having a starring moment. Nicola, Jen An, Gillian Anderson and Catherine O'Hara all rocked gowns in either silver sparkles or silver metallic fabrics this year - and all looked fabulous.

Speaking to reporters on the red carpet, the actor joked that while she would typically do anything for a high-stakes fashion look (Coughlan is nothing if not committed), she won’t wear super-high heels because she doesn’t want to fall over.
